Name 100 languages from memory
Spanish, French, Japanese — the big ones land fast. Then the ones you heard once on a map or in a classroom. Type each language in English; we check our pool. Human languages only — Python, Java, and HTML are not on this list.
What counts
- Type a human language in its usual English name — “Japanese”, “Arabic”.
- Spoken languages count. Programming languages and markup do not.
- Mandarin and Chinese count once. Each language one slot.
- Timer runs up. Finish anytime.
Continent sweep
Europe and Asia first — big hitters plus the ones you studied. Then Africa, the Americas, and Pacific islands. Save English creoles and indigenous languages for the stretch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I answer in Chinese or another language?
No — type the English name people use in atlases and classrooms (Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic). Native-script names like 日本語 or español without the English form may not match.
Do programming languages count?
No — Python, Java, and HTML fail. This round is languages people speak.
Do Mandarin and Chinese both count?
Only once — they map to the same entry in our pool.
