Can you name 100 video games?

Everyone has a shelf in their head: the cartridge you blew into, the Steam weekend that ate a month, the mobile game you will not admit you still open. Naming a hundred of them with the store closed is a different test. The first twenty are tentpoles. Then you remember a pause-screen jingle and cannot retrieve the title.

This is that blank list. Type an English title; Wikidata checks whether it is a video game or a game series. This page is the Name 100 Games challenge for video games — the same blank-box recall game, with a video game validator. It is not a screenshot quiz. Shared format: What is the Name 100 challenge?.

Title, not the character

“Minecraft” counts. “Steve” does not. “The Legend of Zelda” can count as a series; Princess Zelda belongs on Name 100 Fictional Characters. Pokémon species belong on Name 100 Pokémon. Film titles belong on Name 100 Movies— even if you first saw the story in a game cutscene.

What counts

  • Type the common English title — “Minecraft”, “The Legend of Zelda”, “Tetris”.
  • Video games and game series in Wikidata count. Characters, films, and Pokémon species do not.
  • Each title once. Another spelling of the same Wikidata entry is rejected.
  • No hard cutoff. Timer starts on your first submit. Finish anytime, or the round ends at 100.

How to Play

  1. Type a video game title in English and submit.
  2. We check Wikidata for video games and game series.
  3. Aim for 100 unique titles. The timer runs up — no sudden cutoff.
  4. Hit Finish anytime to share your score.

Console shelf, then the leftovers

Sweep the living-room shelf: Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, then PC and mobile. After tentpoles, walk decades (80s arcade → 90s → 2000s). Series names (“Halo”, “Zelda”) often count; a character name (“Master Chief”) usually does not.

Frequently Asked Questions

What video games count?

Wikidata entities typed as a video game or a video game series — and some subclasses of those. Use the common English title.

Do series names count, or only one game?

A series can count if Wikidata files it as a video game series (for example “The Legend of Zelda”). A specific entry (“Breath of the Wild”) counts separately when it is its own game.

Can you name 100 video games?

That’s the dare. Type titles from memory with no store page open. The timer runs up until you hit 100 or Finish.

Can I play a name 100 games challenge here?

Yes — this is the video game edition of the Name 100 Games challenge. Type titles like Minecraft, Zelda, and Tetris from memory; Wikidata checks each one.

Why was my title rejected?

Often it is a character, a movie, a Pokémon species, or a nickname the English label does not use. Try the box-art title.

Is there a time limit?

No hard cutoff. Race yourself with an upward-running timer.

Is this challenge free?

Yes. Free in the browser, no signup.
