Can you name 100 superheroes?

Everyone can picture the cape. Fewer people can retrieve a hundred hero names with the wiki closed. The first twenty are tentpoles. Then you remember a color scheme and cannot retrieve the name on the cover.

This is that blank list. Type the hero; Wikidata checks whether they are filed as a superhero. It is not a “who is this?” picture quiz and not the wider Name 100 Fictional Characters round. Shared format: What is the Name 100 challenge?.

The hero, not the movie

“Superman” counts. “Man of Steel” belongs on Name 100 Movies. The actor does not count. Most villains fail here — they are not superheroes. Sidekicks and legacy names can pass when Wikidata files them as a superhero. Park and princess names belong on Try: Name 100 Disney Characters.

What counts

  • Type the usual English hero name — “Superman”, “Wonder Woman”, “Spider-Man”.
  • Wikidata superheroes count. Most villains, actors, and film titles do not.
  • Each hero once. Another spelling of the same Wikidata entry is rejected.
  • No hard cutoff. Timer starts on your first submit. Finish anytime, or the round ends at 100.

How to Play

  1. Type a superhero’s English name and submit.
  2. We check Wikidata for superhero entities — not every fictional character.
  3. Aim for 100 unique heroes. The timer runs up — no sudden cutoff.
  4. Hit Finish anytime to share your score.

Publisher, then the B-list

Sweep Marvel, then DC, then one other universe you actually read. After the Avengers and the Justice League, force a pass of sidekicks and legacy names. Use the hero name, not the actor and not the film title.

Frequently Asked Questions

What superheroes count?

Wikidata entities typed or occupied as a superhero — and some subclasses of that. Use the common English hero name.

Do villains count?

Usually no. The Joker is a supervillain, not a superhero. Broader characters belong on Name 100 Fictional Characters.

Is this the same as name 100 fictional characters?

No. Fictional Characters is any character Wikidata files that way. Superheroes is the narrower costume-and-powers list.

Can I enter the movie or the actor?

No. “The Dark Knight” belongs on Movies. Christian Bale is a real person. Here you want “Batman”.

Why was my name rejected?

Often it is a villain, a civilian identity Wikidata does not treat as the hero, an actor, or a film title. Try the name on the comic cover.

Is there a time limit?

No hard cutoff. Race yourself with an upward-running timer.

Is this challenge free?

Yes. Free in the browser, no signup.
